In January, the Boston Bar Association announced the launch of a free monthly CORI Sealing Clinic. The clinic assists low-income clients in asking courts to seal their criminal records with help from volunteer attorneys.
A CORI (Criminal Offender Record information) report is the official log of any charges brought against someone by the state of Massachusetts, and can be an obstacle to accessing employment, housing, and educational opportunities.
By meeting certain legal requirements, you can “seal” your CORI records from public view. The volunteer attorneys at the BBA’s CORI Sealing Clinic can assist you with this process.
The next walk-in clinic will take place from 9:00AM to 1:00PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Here is the full list of dates for upcoming clinics.
The BBA’s CORI Sealing Clinic will be located at:
Edward W. Brooke Courthouse Boston Municipal Court, Central Division 24 Chardon St. 2nd Floor Boston, MA 02114If you are unable to attend any of the clinics and are seeking legal advice or representation, please call the Boston Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service at 617-724-0625, connect with an area online 24/7 by clicking “Get Started” here, or by submitting an email request online today.
